The summer is coming to a close and the kids are back to school and the best weather of the year will be here for a short time.

This would be the time to do some planning for the fall and winter seasons. The heaters will go on and you should be getting calls about bad odors and indoor air quality problems. This is just what we all do best – find and solve these kind of problems.

In addition to the normal air system cleaning process you have in place, you should consider air duct leakage testing. This is an easy way to find and fix system air leaks that add up to major energy loss.

In today’s economic climate, every way you can find to save money for your customer is important. One of the oldest messages for business owners is “find a need and fill it”. Being a problem solver is what it is all about and that’s exactly what Air-Care has tried to do for the last 32 years and I am sure that is what most of you are all about.

President’s Corner – Set a Goal and Work Your Plan

We just ended the first half of the year and I guess the question is are you on track to make your goal for the year? Most of us miss it a little or a lot and now we have five months to correct our plan and make it work. Have you heard the saying “it is a cinch by the inch and hard by the yard”? Or “how do you eat an elephant?” One little bite at a time!

These are cliché sayings but they have a lot of truth to them. You need to first have a plan that you can believe and achieve and then work the plan every day – not just when you think of it. Become obsessed with it and guess what will happen? You will make your goal.

You also need to write it down on a piece of paper to make it real. It is really that simple, most people spend more time planning their vacations than they do their business.

There is the 80/20 rule of life. Twenty percent of the people do what needs to be done to be successful and 80% watch the others get it done and then complain about their lack of success. Which number do you identify with? The economy is still bad, but if you work the plan, it can get better – much better.

On another subject, we are about to release a new product called  Kool Shade Solar Screens. I talked to you about this in the past months and we have been field testing these products for a few months and it has been a great success.

Our fist few weeks we did $500 in sales. The next full month we did $8,000 in sales and for the month of July we did $10,000 in sales and it is growing each day. We have a winner here and will be sharing it with you in a few days. We will have sample product to show your customers, a demo kit to prove it works, sales brochures and a suggested retail price. This is a no brainer. You will be very excited about this product and you can add it to your sales plan.

Summer Time is Busy Time

Here we are in the middle of the year with temperatures up and many people on vacation. This is prime time for our industry and work seems to come in at a higher rate. Our filter business is brisk and growing which means you are selling more of them, so thank you for that effort.

I usually tell you about products we are creating and getting ready to introduce to you but this time I want to share with you something different.

We have been investigating new accounting and manufacturing systems for over 6 months trying to find the perfect program for our size company. We just completed this process and have purchased a new and improved software program.

You ask what does that have to do with me? Well it makes a big difference to you it will help use have more control over all our business functions and improve the direct ordering process you have come to enjoy. Any time you can do something faster with a high degree of accuracy and have forward-looking visibility, everyone wins.

We are just getting started with implementation and it will take a few months to complete. It should be seamless to you but where there are new features you need to know about, you will advised.

Every thing we do is to make us a first-class company and offer the best products at the best price and this is only one of the efforts to continue that process.

The President’s Corner

Happy Valentine’s Day…I hope all of you had a great day. As I am writing this message we have 13 new people here for training from all over the USA. It is uplifting to see the excitement they are showing about getting started in this new service business.

Some of you may have seen our first webinar (How to get started in the Air System Cleaning Business). It was fun to do and we got over two hundred people from all over the world signing up for the event.

We plan to have many more of these webinars covering many subjects related to our industry. This is one of the most powerful ways to communicate with our customers and offer additional training and introduction to new products. We are currently designing the subjects and will be contacting all of you with the schedules.

Most of you have received notice about our new product, Roxy the odor control product. This will be a great item since you can reactivate it and it will have an extended life. The consumer will love that feature.

In the next few weeks you will be contacted again about some more new products that will knock your socks off. I can hardly wait to introduce them to you.

We are also developing a program dealing with marketing your service in your local area to help you get more work, so stay tuned. Well that’s enough teasing for now.

1,000,000th Filter Sold!

This is a very special day for Air Care – 19 years ago in 1991 we manufactured our first electrostatic air filter and during the first week of July, we produced and shipped our one millionth filter…that’s right 1,000,000!

It is hard to believe we have come so far. The millionth filter was sold to Clean Air Solutions and we are sending a special certificate to them and a gift of 10 free filters. We are also going to reward Stanley Steamer of Oklahoma City and Wasatch Front Cleaning Services by giving them 5 free filters for purchasing the 999,999 and 1,000,001 filter respectively.

up arrowThis was possible because of our wonderful staff and our great customers. Our filters are sold all over the world and we are very proud of this accomplishment. From now on you can tell your customers we have sold over one million of these high quality filters to consumers world wide.

Business has been very good and we are getting reports from you, our customers, that you are doing well in this soft economy.

President’s Corner – December 2009

How fast a year goes by. It seems like we were just getting started and the year is almost over.

We are always very busy here at Air-Care developing new products and services. It just makes every day go by very fast. In fact, there is just not enough time in the day to do all the things we want to do.

But that is a good problem and we enjoy the challenge of growing and doing our very best to make Air Care a model business that supports the needs of all our customers.

This is the time of year that we all should be reflecting on the wonderful country we live in and the fact that if you work hard and help others along the way, you can achieve what ever you set your mind to. Our company is a perfect example of what that kind of thinking and effort can produce.

All of us at Air-Care would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I can assure you that we will do every thing possible to make your 2010 a successful one.
